What are the minimum Australia Immigration PR Points 2019 requirements from India?

Australian immigration has a fully transparent process and is one of the simplest immigration processes around the world. It is a point based system that allows the immigrants to pre-calculate their points and check their eligibility beforehand. Immigrants who are able to clear the Australia Immigration PR points system are allowed to apply for different types of visas provided by the Australian immigration office.

What are different types of visas under Australia immigration?

Major types of sub classes of visas for skilled immigration under Australian immigration are as follows:

Skilled Independent Subclass 189

This is a permanent resident visa for points-tested skilled workers. It does not require employer or family sponsorship, or nomination from a state or territory government. However, you may require an invitation to apply, as well as the following requirements:

  • Be nominated in an occupation that is on the relevant skilled occupation list
  • Have obtained a suitable skills assessment for that occupation
  • Not yet turned 50 years of age.
  • Have achieved the score specified in your letter of invitation based on the factors in the points test
  • Be at least competent English
  • Skilled Nominated Subclass 190

This is a permanent resident visa for points-tested skilled workers. It does require nomination from a state or territory government as well as the following requirements:

  • Be nominated in an occupation that is on the relevant skilled occupation list
  • Have obtained a suitable skills assessment for that occupation
  • Have not yet turned 50 years of age
  • Have achieved the score specified in your letter of invitation based on the factors in the points test
  • Be at least competent English
  • Have been nominated by an Australian state or territory government agency
  • Skilled Regional (Provisional) Subclass 489

This is a 4-year visa that allows skilled workers to live and work in specific regions of Australia. There are different requirements depending on whether you are applying under the invited pathway or the extended stay pathway.

Once candidates are able to clear the minimum Australia Immigration PR points 2019 requirement for each subclass, they can start their immigration process to Australia.

What is Australia Immigration PR Points Requirement?

The Australia immigration process is done via the Skill select system that allows the skilled immigrants to apply for Australia PR visa. Minimum Australia permanent residency points requirement to apply under this program is of 65 points Australian migration. These Australian permanent residency points are awarded by the Australian PR points calculator 2019 based on the following factors:

  • Language Proficiency in English
  • Skilled Employment
  • Educational Qualifications
  • Australian Study requirements
  • Credential Community Language Qualification
  • Study in Regional Australia
  • Partner Skill Qualifications
  • Professional year in Australia
  • Nomination by State or Territory Government (visa subclass 190 only)
  • Nomination by State or Territory Government or Sponsorship by an Eligible Family Member (visa subclass 490 only)

Earlier (Before 1 July, 2011) Australian permanent residency points were being awarded based on the factor of nominated occupation. But to be eligible under the General Skilled Migration program, candidates must nominate a skilled occupation that is on Australia’s Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL) or Consolidated Sponsored Occupations List (CSOL).

Candidates who have nominated occupation under Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL) can apply for following visas:

  • Graduate Temporary (Subclass 485) Visa
  • Skilled Independent Visa (Subclass 189)
  • Skilled Regional (Subclass 887) Visa

Candidates who have nominated occupation under Consolidated Sponsored Occupation List (CSOL) can apply for following visas:

  • Skilled – Nominated (Subclass 190) Visa
  • Skilled – Nominated or Sponsored Provisional (Subclass 489) Visa
  • Temporary Work (Skilled) visa (Subclass 457)

SKILLED EMPLOYMENT :

Candidates are awarded Australia permanent residency points for the skilled occupation that is listed under MLTSSL, STSOL or ROL. Maximum points awarded under this factor are 20 points. Points are awarded whether the work experience is gathered inside of Australia or outside of Australia. Experience earned must have been gained within the last ten years.

AUSTRALIAN QUALIFICATION :

In case the candidate has done an Australian qualification from an educational institution based in the country they are awarded 5 Australia immigration PR points for the same. Course duration must be at least of 2 years. Any degree, diploma, or trade qualification earned in Australia after at least of 2 years – 5 Australia skilled migration points

REGIONAL STUDY :

Any degree, diploma, or trade qualification earned in Australia after at least of 2 years in a regional Australia/low population growth metropolitan area – 5 Australia skilled migration points

COMMUNITY LANGUAGE SKILLS :

To get Australia immigration PR points under this category candidate needs to get their skills recognized by Australia’s National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI). NAATI recognized translator/interpreter level skills in a community language – 5 Australian immigration points

SPOUSE/PARTNER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION :

In case the candidate is moving to Australia with their spouse/partner, their skills can also awards candidates with Australian immigration points. Spouse’s/partner’s age, language ability and suitable skills assessment in a nominated occupation on the same Skilled Occupation list – 5 Australian immigration points

PROFESSIONAL YEARS :

Completed a professional year in Australia in the last 4 years – 5 Australian immigration points

NOMINATION AND SPONSORSHIP ( SUBCLASS 190 AND SUBCLASS 489 ONLY ) :

Candidates who want to apply for Subclass 190 and Subclass 489, are awarded points for being sponsored by an Australian state or territory government
