Canada Provincial Nomination Program (PNP)

PNP – PNP is a preferred option by many to realize their dream of moving to Canada. Today, the provinces have many attractions. One can choose from over 80 PNP streams. The attractions include

• Get nominated within 6 months
• Add extra 600 points to your CRS score
• Children of person get free medical care and school education
• Option of applying for immigration stream linked with the Federal Express Entry System.

PNP is comparatively easier than the Express Entry Program. PNPs have relaxed eligibility criteria allowing skilled people to seek permanent residence (PR) in the province concerned.

It is important to note that almost all Canadian provinces have an Express Entry linked workstream and there are 2 different ways you can apply for Canada PR via a PNP:

Method I

1. Contact a province or territory and request nomination under their Express Entry stream
2. If the province accepts your request for a nomination, you can make an Express Entry profile and show that you have been nominated
3. You will receive your nomination electronically through your account, which you will need to accept

Method II

1. Make an Express Entry profile and indicate in your profile, which provinces and territories you are interested in
2. Once you receive a “notification of interest” from a province or territory in your account, you can contact them directly
3. Apply to their Express Entry stream
4. In case they select you for a nomination, they will send the nomination electronically through your account. You just have to accept it

Either create an Express Entry profile. With that you become part of Express Entry pool which is accessed by Canadian employers looking for skilled people to recruit.

Each Canadian province have its own PNP, with the exception of Quebec which follows Quebec Skilled Worker Program.
