Nova Scotia Provincial Nominee Program

The NSNP accepts applications under the following immigration streams:

These general requirements are to be Eligible for the NSNP

  • Must be 18-49 years of age
  • Your Occupation Should be in Demand
  • Should attain minimum 4.5 (IELTS) or 4 (CLB) score on language ability
  • Must have 1 year of work experience in relevant occupational field.
  • Must possess an equivalent qualification diploma/certificate to Canadian education system.
  • Must demonstrate an intention to live in the Province of Nova Scotia
  • Nova Scotia PNP IELTS Requirements

    The province of Nova Scotia mandates that all immigrants must have proficient knowledge of English with IELTS English proficiencycore at least a CLB 7 across all segments of the test i.e. reading, writing, speaking and listening. While you can certainly qualify with a CLB 7 score, you should try and get the maximum i.e. CLB 10 in order to distinguish your profile from others.     Which Professions Are in-Demand at Present in Nova Scotia?

    The new three-year pilot immigration program is for people with job offers in any one of the targeted intermediate-skilled occupations. Now, this stream is open to eligible candidate with full-time permanent job offer from an eligible employer of the province in following two occupations categorized under National Occupation Classification (NOC) skill level C:

    • Nurses aides, orderlies and patient service associates (NOC Code: 3413)
    • Transport truck drivers (NOC Code: 7511)

    Other requirements are as follows:

    • Have one year of work experience related to the job
    • Be in age group between 21 to 55 years of old
    • Have minimum high school diploma
    • Have the appropriate training, skills and/or accreditation for the job
    • Prove language proficiency by scoring minimum of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 4
    • Must Show enough financial resources in order to settle in the province of Nova Scotia

    Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry

    Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry uses the federal government's Express Entry immigration selection system to select from highly-skilled individuals with a post-secondary education and qualifications that will help them successfully settle in Nova Scotia. There is a list of 11 eligible occupations for this stream.

    Nova Scotia Experience: Express Entry

    This provides a pathway to permanent residence for highly skilled applicants who have worked for a Nova Scotia employer for at least one year.

    Nova Scotia Labour Market Priorities

    The Nova Scotia Labour Market Priorities Stream allows the province to select Express Entry candidates in skilled occupations specified time to time. It changes with each invitation round.

    Nova Scotia Labour Market Priorities for Physicians

    The Nova Scotia Labour Market Priorities for Physician stream selects Express Entry candidates who have an approved job offer as either a general practitioner and family physician (NOC 3112) or a specialist physician (NOC 3111).

    Skilled Worker Stream

    The NSNP accepts applications under this stream from individuals who have received a job offer from a Nova Scotia employer and is specifically designed for workers in skilled, semi-skilled, and low-skilled occupations.

    Occupation In Demand Stream

    The Nova Scotia Occupation in Demand Stream is designed to target specific NOC Skill Level C related jobs that are in high demand in the province of Nova Scotia.

    Entrepreneur Stream

    Wish to start/buy and run a business in Nova Scotia? The Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP) Entrepreneur Stream is designed to attract individuals who wish so and want settle permanently in Nova Scotia.

    International Graduate Entrepreneur Stream

    Open to graduates who have completed at least two years of full-time study from a recognized Nova Scotia university or Nova Scotia Community College, have operated their own business in Nova Scotia for at least one year, and intend to settle permanently in Nova Scotia.

    Physician Stream

    The Physician Stream is open to internationally-trained general practitioners, family physicians and specialist physicians with a signed employment offer from Nova Scotia's healthcare authorities.
